#Unit 11 A - Writing an Essay

Writing

Write an article about the high payments in soccer in relation with another jobs. An opinion essay.
Write the article. Write four or five paragraphs.

Paragraph 1 - Write an introduction. You can adapt the introduction in the model article. Say if you agree or not.

Middle paragraphs - Giver your reasons. Begin the paragraphs with Firstly, Secondly, (Thirdly), and Finally.
Last paragraph - Write a conclusion (this should be a summary of what you write in the middle paragraphs).

Young Stars

In Brazil, a lot of soccer players receive high payments in their clubs. Sometimes, they are paid more than others professionals who have a high level of education and responsibilities. These football players reach this high level of payments, in most of the cases, when they are very young, as a normal professional of the market, reaches this payment after spending a lot of time working and studying. Is this fair?

For example, if you compare the payment of the last brazilian soccer star, Neymar, with the payment of a regular boy of the same age, you will realize the abyss between their realities. While Neymar, 22,  closes a contract with Barcelona soccer team for US$120 million per year, the brazilian boy probably will receive US$400 per month for a professional internship.

In my opinion, this is not fair and out of the reality. It’s necessary to find the balance between the gift and the intellectual knowledge, as occurs in the United States with the National Football League. There, all the players need to finish their graduation to act in the NFL, in balance with the development of their skills. All the sports league in the United States use this method like a way to increase the interest of the young people to the education and to the sports.

On the other hand, a lot of people in Brazil believe that the current format is correct. If one person has some kind of gift or special skills, this person is able to be instantly promoted to sports stars, no matter if this person doesn't know how to write his name properly. All that matters is the entertainment. Poor thinking.

Finally, I believe that in one country like Brazil, where the education levels are decreasing year by year, develop this method of work could be a way to make one national passion like soccer helps the young people to have a better future in their lives.

End of lesson.

See you.

#NFL Week 4

What a shame! Where The Patriots want to go with the kind of game presented yesterday on Monday Night Football? I don't know, but not too far.

Patriots 14 x 41 Kansas Chiefs - MNF

With a full stadium and the crowd making a record noise, The Chiefs beat Tom Brady and The Patriots. Was a night that everything worked to Kansas and nothing to Patriots. The NE offensive line didn't protect Brady's pocket. The Patriots QB was sacked 2 times and intercepted 2 times too. The defensive line didn't work yet and let the Chief RB J.Charles score 3 TDs. What a mass!! Bill Belichick, Tom Brady and the whole N.Englands need to talk about what happened yesterday.

Another Scores:

Giants 45 x 14 Redskins ( Eli Manning was fantastic!!!)
Packers 38 x 17 Bears
Bills 17 x 23 Texans
Titans 17 x 41 Colts
Panthers 10 x 38 Ravens
Lions 24 x 17 Jets
Bucaneers 27 x 24 Steelers (Almost there!!)
Dolphins 38 x 14 Raiders (Poor Raiders)
Jaguars 14 x 33 Chargers
Eagles 21 x 26 49ers
Falcons 28 x 41 Vikings
Saints 17 x 38 Cowboys (Almost the same kind of Patriots x Kansas game)

Let's pray for Patriots. The next NE game is against The Bengals on Sunday 5. It will be a tough game. Cincinnati is 100%, with 3 wins.

See You !!

QuarterBack (QB) - É o jogador cérebro do time, dele saem todas as jogadas de ataque.

Recebedores

Linha Defensiva
Defense End (DE) - Tem a função de atacar o QB e impedir o avanço do RB, ambos do time adversário.

Steelers 6 X 26 Ravens
Dolphins 10 X 29 Bills
Jaguars 10 X 41 Redskins

#NFL Week 1

Resume of the first round of NFL, at least the games that a watched:

Opening game - Packers 16 x 36 Seahawks - The Seahawks began at the same way that they finished the last season, destroying everything in their front. Was an awesome game to watch. The couple R.Wilson and M.Lynch were unbeatable. They have everything to reach the Super Bowl again. Unfortunately, in this game specifically A.Rogers and his team failed to do anything to beat the Seattle team. In the next week Packers will receive the Jets on the Lambeau Field.

Browns 27 x 30 Steelers - The Steelers almost changed an easy game in a disaster. Winning the most part of the game, Pittsburgh saw the Browns to touch on the scoreboard and tied it up the game on the 4th quarter. Luckily one kick in the end of the game gave the win to Steelers. The crazy move on the game was Antonio Brown from Steelers that made it. In a bizarre movement he kicked Spencer Lanning from Browns in the face. I think that he needs to be punished. In my opinion was a deliberate move. The Steelers go to Baltimore play with the Ravens, on the derby of the round, and the Browns receive the Saints on Cleveland. This will be "the game" of the second week!!

In this weekend we had the debut of the brazilian player Cairo Santos, the kicker of Kansas Chief. Was the first time that one brazilian player plays on NFL. The Kansas lost his game to Titans, 10 x 26. Cairo hit one kick and missed two kicks.

Unfortunately my team, Patriots lost his game against Miami Dolphins. The New England started well the game but suddenly one blackout took over the team and anything worked anymore. Tom Brady unrecognizable as the as whole time. The Patriots needs to improve his performance to reach the Super Bowl again. The Patriots goes to Minnesota face the Vikings and Miami will face the Buffalo Bills in the next round.

On Sunday Night Football, I watched Broncos versus Colts. What a game!! P.Manning was fantastic, as the entire Broncos team. I think if Manning had not yellowed at the last Super Bowl, the Broncos would have a chance to beat the Seahawks. The Colts expressed some reaction in the 3th and 4th quarters, but with a lot of missed chances to score, they lost the opportunity to win the game. In the end, the score was Colts 24 x 31 Broncos. The Broncos receive the Chiefs in the next round and the Colts receive the Eagles.

On Monday Night Football, the last game which a watched was Giants 14 x 35 Lions. The Detroit team passed trough the Giants without mercy. M.Stafford and C.Jonhson were unbeatable. Was a great game to close this first week. The Lions go to Carolina to face the Panthers and the Giants receive the Cardinals in the Metlife Stadium.

The others scores were:
Saints 34 x 37 Falcons
Vikings 34 x 06 Rams
Jaguars 17 x 34 Eagles
Raiders 14 x 19 Jets
Bengals 23 x 16 Ravens
Bills 23 x 20 Bears
Redskins 06 x 17 Texans
Panthers 20 x 14 Bucaneers
49ers 28 x 17 Cowboys
Chargers 17 x 18 Cardinals

The second week starts on Thursday, sep 11 with Steelers x Ravens in M&T Bank Stadium - Baltimore.

Let's play the game!!

See You!!

#Do It

The truth about some things. We always want more than we have. We want more money, more free time to do the things, more patience from those around us, a bigger house, a better car, more hair, more healthy. More everything!

But, what are we doing to reach this? And, we really need to have more than we have now? What is the limit for our ambition? What is the real purpose of life?

Sometimes we are complaining about our job, that we don't like it, that we don't like the people who work with us, but we continue working, doing the same thing all the days. If we want change, we need to start the change, we need to be the owner of our destiny.

We need to be careful with our wishes. My opinion is that we need to do a list with our life priorities and follow it, and look if we really need what we wished. Maybe what we really need is less than what we desire.

Otherwise, I believe that the graphic of our life must be an ascendent graphic, growing up always. The challenge is find the right balance, the right speed of this growing. Listen our hearts and follow our instincts/reasons.

If is inside of your list of priorities change of work, send CVs to another companies, go ahead, If one of your priorities is stay with your family and get some more free time, revise your schedule and do it. If you want more healthy do some exercises, take care of your feeding.

Follow the things that brings something really good to you. Follow the things that makes you happy and with your heart enlightened.

So if you want, do it!! Don't wait too much, the life is short!

See You!!

#Arturo

Arturo is a bear who lives at the Mendoza Zoo in deplorable conditions. He is 29 years old and his partner died in 2012. Now Arturo is alone in the Zoo. He was diagnosed with depression and his behavior is worrying. He comes supporting temperatures at 30ºc in the summer. If nothing change he will die, soon.

Has one Zoo in Canada called Assiniboine Park Zoo, which offers a better place to Arturo, with a natural environment, closest to the natural habitat of the bears. The managers of the Zoo in Mendoza said that he will not survive to the trip until the new Zoo. Looks like an excuse to keep him there.

Something needs to be done, and one ONG, called Change.org, is trying by a petition to the Argentina's President, Cristina Kirchner, the authorization to transfer Arturo to a better place. It's a shame that this is occurring.

So if you want to help Arturo signs this petition and maybe the President Cristina Kirchner by the exercise of your authority allows the Arturo's transfer. I've already signed. You don't need to pay nothing, unless if you want donate something around $5,00.

This is the link to the Change.org. We have almost 840.000 signatures, and we need 1 million of signatures to pressure the Government of Argentina.

Arturo's real pictures:

#Three kinds of electors.

If we think seriously about the last survey to the President's election, we'll noted that exist actually three kinds of electors:

1) The electors who will support the actual President, because they need of the policy which has being used  so far to their survive. They need of the "bolsas" and a such numbers of subsidy to maintain their subsistence. These people, the most part, live in the north/northeast of the country and represent the majority of the electors. To these people the only thing that matter is the maintenance of his actual life condition, they don't care about other policies, like economic and financial.

2) Electors who are against the current president and prefer to vote for another candidate to vote for the current government. The only objective of these people is change the President, no matter who will occupy the chair of President.

3) And finally the electors that answered the survey like blank and nulls. These people lost their confidence about the ways of the country. They lost their confidence in the politicians and all the corruption that involves them. They represent almost 20% of the total population of the country. This information is extremely worrying to our future.

I follow with the people who are in the item 3. I lost my confidence and I'm so tired  with this subject that I'm almost without energies to read or write about the directions of our country. I'll keep trying...

The only thing that I don't know yet, is if I'll vote blank/null or at the last hour I'll change my mind and support the guys of the item 2.

See You!!

#Changes

Hi. I'm back.

I was on holidays since 06/13 until 07/01. I thought a lot, and a lot of things happened to me. And I didn't write anymore.

I'm passing by a change moment in my life with many projects that I need to follow. We are already in the second semester of the year and I can't lost more time. I need to change my focus.

Many certainties which I have need to be put in practice. I need to stop with old habits that don't let me move on. It's too lost time!

I know what needs to be done, and I will do it!

Ok! Let's go.

See you!!
